Globalization and Professional Change

| Let your ideas flow! |
I have found quite interesting the 4 main steps to be “innovative” in a certain way. (FEEL – IMAGINE – DO – SHARE). Then, we can see that after sharing the innovation the changes promoted by it can be drastic (it is left the way to do something in order to do the same in a very different way) or progressive (it is still doing in the same way but introducing little changes). But the important thing here is that an innovation must be shared with the others in order to improve the aspects we would like to change through it.
As you can observe in the following image there are lots of streets, avenues, roads, boulevards and so on that must be crossed and must be taken into account to make an innovation, or at least, to start being innovative.
Globalization and Professional Change
We talked about what collaborative projects are and how these
collaborative projects can be put into practice in real schools. From my point
of view , it is necessary to make teachers aware and engage them to take part
in international collaborative projects. As starting point our group has
developed a project brochure called “LET’S BE REPRESENTATIVE IN OUR SONGS”. It
can be found in the “Collaboration” section.
To continue, I
have uploaded a short video about etwinning. Althought it is in Spanish, the
main idea is the following one:
“The largest
online community for collaborative projects between schools around Europe.
Etwinning is an opportunity to cross the boundaries of the classroom. A place
where ideas flow, where you can share your work, and where you can use new ICT
tools”.

Globalization and Professional Change
This blog is
going to be built day by day during the next months. Although, nowadays the
idea is to collect and reflect about some concepts that can influence in a
direct or indirect way education, I will include some other articles and
reflections that I consider relevant as a future teacher.

Actually, there
are some items on which I have already started working, as for example
globalization, sustainability and tolerance. In these sections I have given a
personal view of what these concepts means to me, and also I have tried to
complement with some personals experiences that are related with it.
In the SUSTAINABILITY section (12/02/2013) I have made a definition about what meant to me this word at the beginning of the lesson and how my idea changed once the class was finished. Moreover, I have included a little reflection about how important is the teacher role to make our students aware of the relevance of keep maintaining a sustainable world. Furthermore, I have linked a project that is executed in my home country.
As a summary, in the GLOBALIZATION section (05/02/2013) I have reflected about what are the drawbacks of globalization and what must be the role of teachers to face the challenges that may involve this process.
In the TOLERANCE section (19/02/2013) we watched a video that made us think about what tolerance mean, as well as we played a game. I thought that the game was very interesting and it is feasible to put into practice with our future pupils. In the "tolerance" section you can find more information about it.
